EARN WHILE YOU LEARN

This scheme has been introduced by Department of Higher Education, Government of Haryana for Govt. and Aided Private Colleges in 2001. The scheme provides opportunity for earning while learning so that the students become economically independent. The “earn While You Learn” scheme is functioning under the able convenership of Dr. Meenu Nain. Other members of committee are

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the scheme is to give students hand on experience and thereby prepare them for taking up jobs in future. Students are provided with financial support, counseling and a holistic opportunity to learn and plan their careers by undertaking a certain kind of tasks within the college. Students are treated as intern of the college and learn a lot about administrative and laboratory skills.
Students also learn library jobs like maintaining and drawing catalogues, arrangement and display of books and stock verification.

PROCESS

Principal appoints a convener for this scheme every year. Convener prepares a strategic plan under the chairmanship of principal and guidance of council members in council meeting for proper utilization of grant. This scheme is only for meritorious students of weaker section to support them economically. Screening Committee conduct interviews of the students and finalizes the list of selected students. Selected students are engaged in various departments. Details of their work are maintained by respective department heads and lab incharges. Bank details are taken on a prescribed performa and then remuneration is transferred to their bank account on monthly basis. In this way this scheme enhances the skill of the students and inculcates the work cultural and community service among them.
